Out of all the Manga's I've read, Ao Haru Ride will always be top. I read the series online and watched the anime and I was excited to find it coming out with an english version. Will defiantly buy them all as they come out.

I read the manga & watched the anime over 10 times online. I’ve been waiting for this to come out. My favorite manga overall. It came out nicely nothing it’s so beautiful lol. I can’t wait to buy every volume and complete the whole series tbh

The art is beautiful and I'm already attached to these characters after reading the first volume. This childhood, first love story has some added depth because the two protagonists have been separated for three years during which they both endured quite a bit of hardship. Will they learn to accept the other as they are even with the new baggage the carry with them? I'm so excited to find out!

This is my favorite manga series. I read it back in 2014/15 and have been patiently waiting to buy the english edition. So worth it though. If you love shoujo manga, or are a romantic at heart, this is the series for you.It's a coming of age story with lots of laughs, angst, and the joys of growing up and finding yourself and your true friends. Please suplort the author and give it a read.(Not to mention the art is beautiful)

I purchased this as a resource for one of my own projects. My expectation was that I'd look up a few things, probably using it to check some names or clarify some ideas from the Lovecraft Mythos. But as I thumbed through the book, more and more entries caught my eye. I began cross referencing creatures and checking the relationships between various deities, sects, etc. And I ended up spending most of an afternoon browsing. Ideas are percolating! Very glad I purchased this one!I detected a few typos, and would have liked to see more graphics (not monster pics, but graphics that clarify relationships among the various listings). Some "meta structure" might be nice too, where (for example) keywords might be used to distinguish between major and minor aspects of the Mythos. Lovecraft and those he influenced/inspired have written a lot of stuff, some of it fascinating. Anything that can help an interested person tease out relationships would be helpful.All-in-all, however, this promises to be a useful reference book.

Giving the authors due credit for doing that amount of research, however this encyclopedia wound up unsatifying. For 1 thing, there are no illustrations, which is important considering the complex appearances of Lovecraft’s creatures & gods.For another, the individual entries are rather skimpy on details: Randolph Carter’s life history is highly abbreviated, Herbert West was a celebrated doctor with a thing for reurrection, & Walter Gilman was a college student who died from a rat bite. Anybody who read the stories knows a great deal was left out. I’m forced to wonder how much is being withheld about the entries I don’t know.It’s possible the authors’ intention is for us to seek out the original works and read those. Laudable enough, but this poses a problem as many of those books are long out of print & virtually unobtainable. My area has almost no 2ndhand bookstores left.I can Google the information you suggest? True, but if I have to read everything on the Internet, then what do I need this book for?

This is a necessary resource for anyone serious about the Cthulhu Mythos. Whether you are a writer, gamer or an enthusiast of HP Lovecraft and other horrors, this book is highly recommended. The information in this book is great for creating plot hooks, or what stories to search for to learn more about a specific topic for further exploration.Need to find out more about Ubbo-Sathla to write a time travel story about wizards?Look up Ubbo-Sathla, find out that Clark Ashton Smith wrote Ubbo-Sathla, and that god is mentioned in the Book of Eibon. You'll find an appendices about the Necronomicon.More importantly Dan Harms included a guide on how to handle and use others intellectual property from a non-legalistic standpoint, but more from a standpoint of being ethically creative while respecting to the continuity.Somewhere in storage I have the second edition of this book, but I have a digital copy on my iPhone, laptop and desktop computer. For my podcast I find this to be a great resource.Unfortunately I have occasionally ran across instances where Mr. Harms references a story that is no longer in print and hard to find(even after contacting the author or the story). That would be my only gripe. Otherwise this is wonderful, also I am happy that it is a book that covers literature as well as RPG source material due to the fact that the two have become intertwined in the last 30+ years. I am also thankful that the book doesn't rely on any goofy lovecraftian tricks, spooky typefaces or faux-aged paper. It's nice to have some people take this space monster business seriously.

It's a reference book on Cthulu Mythos. The Questions on the Amazon rating screen are for a novel or biography and completely irrelevant to a reference work. It's funny. They ask the same questions on a Roll Players Guide book. If you play CoC or just want to understand the world of H.P. Lovecraft and his collegues, this will help. It even has some explanations of how successive authors have changed or added to the mythos.

I purchased this as reference material for some Mythos stories I'm writing / will be writing. It is chock full of data. If you are writing Cthulhu Mythos stories, this is a good work to draw upon.

Having recently gotten reacquainted with the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, I found this encyclopedia to be very informative. I had read some of Lovecraft's stories back in college, but now thirty years later, I am enjoying the stories again, along with tales by other authors who want to keep the Lovecraft or Cthulhu mythology alive in their own way. This encyclopedia covers many well known topics, characters and locations within the mythology from the dangerous book known as the Necronomicon to the professors of Miskatonic University. Sometimes, I will read a Lovecraft story and then see if any of the events or characters are featured in another story (maybe by another author) by checking the Cthulhu Mythos Encyclopedia. Unfortunately, the encyclopedia does not have any pictures or artwork inside, which would be helpful, but that is my only complaint with this book. I hope that if you do pick up this book, you will find it to be as much of a fun and helpful resource to Lovecraft's world as I have. Thank you for reading.

This book will clear up any questions you have about the Mythos. It's an invaluable aid if you are GMing a Call of Cthulhu game, however I wouldn't sit down and read it because it has the tendency to ruin the suspense and mystery of the stories if you're already familiar with the Mythos. I would recommend this to any one who's already read Lovecraft and co's tales and wants something more or someone who needs a quick guide for GMing.

It's a good companion to the Cthulu Mythos if you're not up to speed on the works of Lovecraft.

I ordered this book for my 7 year old grandson, so that he could complete a project for school. Some of the text was over his head, but we were able to glean the information he required. The photos were definitely useful.

If you’re a fan of the Olympics, no doubt you’ve read about Michael Phelps. During the Beijing Olympics he won a record-breaking eight gold medals. Of course “Michael’s journey to Olympic glory began in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was born on June 30, 1985.” Swimming could easily have been called a family sport because both of his older sisters, Whitney and Hilary, were into it. Michael really had talent and by the time he was an eleven-year-old, he was wiping out the older competition at the “North Baltimore Aquatic Club.” Just a few years later, at the age of fifteen, it was no surprise he was a dynamic swimmer and ready for the Olympics.Of course “no one expected a 15-year-old to make the US Olympic team,” but they really didn’t know how talented Michael really was. He made the team, but unfortunately there would be no medal for him ... but watch out! Training began in earnest after the 2000 Olympics and “he worked harder than ever.” Fast forward to 2002 and he “set seven world records in just a few months!” By the time the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece rolled around, young Michael was ready to compete. The medals rolled in and he was in the winner’s podium an astounding eight times for “six gold and two bronze” medals.It wasn’t the end for Michael, but only the beginning of his winning streak. The Beijing Olympic games were up next. Every race he entered, he won, including a “4 x 100-meter medley race.” Michael just couldn’t seem to lose and yes, he came away with yet another eight medals. Yes, there was talent there, but athletes do have to work hard and train for events. Just what did Michael have to do to continue on his amazing winning streak? He trained “six days a week for five or six hours each day.” Wow, you might think, that’s a lot of work and yes, indeed, it was.Obviously Michael had a passion for swimming and there was little time for anything else. In fact he claimed there were only three things he did when he was in training: “Eating, Swimming, sleeping, that’s pretty much it.” You’ll learn all about how Michael trained, including the fact that he’d swim “as many as 50 miles” a week. I passed the CISSP exam on the first try. I originally started studying using the CISSP All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition, Jun 7, 2016by Shon Harris and Fernando Maymi, but I was completely overwhelmed with how much detail is in that book. It is a great resource and I'm glad I bought it, but I wouldn't suggest using it by itself. I then purchased the CISSP (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems guidebook by James M. Stewart, and I found that to be more accessible. In addition, I watched free videos on Cybrary.it, and that was a huge help in my studying. Finally, I used the practice exam books from both Shon Harris/Fernando Maymi and from James Stewart. I did not pay to take a course, so I was going it alone. Because I didn't take a course, I am really glad I purchased both guidebooks and both practice exam books. And again, look at Cybrary for videos to help as well. Good luck!

While I really enjoyed this book, it shoud be noted that it is EXTREME overkill for the exam. This book really goes deep into every topic when you really just need to know how a topic works on a conceptual level. The practice questions are also a LOT harder than you can expect to see on the exam, so they actually help you feel more confident later on. I was able to pass the exam first try with this book, the sybex book, and cybrary.

You must own this book if you consider yourself a IT security professional. This book is a deep dive into the 8 security domains. The information is comprehensive and through. It is a dry read due to its in-depth examination of each concept. The book also jumps around with references. So if you like myself need to know more!! You will find yourself jumping back and forth between chapters. This book is very technical for a security guide. You will find yourself reading about how memory is processed and how this process can be exploited. You will also learn about CPU architecture and its exploits. How different OS designs access the system kernel. This technical side of security is something that I find is lacking in a lot of the younger security managers and engineers. They know they need to apply these settings because there is a CVE or IAVA/STIG notice but they don't understand why and how an attacker could utilize that specific exploit vector. The chapters tend to be very large 100+ pages each but each chapter is a domain! Which in my opinion makes it much easier for referencing specific concepts and ideas.

This was a really good book and I know it helped me pass my exam. I'm a 4th year Software Developer. I have CompTIA's A+, Network+, Security+, and Project+ certs and ITIL. I'm mentioning this because I think it's helpful to know what skill level someone has reading this material and going into the exam. I first purchased the CBK and it was horrible. It was such a chore reading through each chapter and I knew it was time to change up so I purchased this book. I read the first two chapters and then I started reading the summaries and doing the chapter tests. I can say that this book did a way better job explaining the concepts you will see on the exam. The CBK did not go into nearly as much detail on very important topics like the Risk Management Framework steps. I give it 4 stars because even though it went over exactly what I needed, it was still very boring at times. Mostly, the legal sections. In addition to using this book, I also used SkillSoft, practice exams, Quizlet, and YouTube videos. Overkill, I know but it all helped.

Too verbose in many sections, and the CD-Rom based questions don't line up with the points of emphasis in the text. It as if they are preparing you for an Algebra II exam in the book, with humor that's unnecessary and too much description about things not in the exam, and then they give you a Geometry quiz at the end because they're both Mathematics. For this type of book, I'd rather see a focused, concerted effort on getting me ready for the exam. Leave the long dialog for a survey course or an "topics in computer security" text. If the CISSP exam has ridiculous rote memorization requirements (as the text says it does), then we should have more practice and study tips for those parts of the exam. Do I need to the exact titles for the ISO/IEC 27-series publications (27001 to 27006)? Then break it down for me, and tell me how you differentiate. Don't just say "Unfortunately you will run into questions on the CISSP exam that will be this confusing..." (p. 186).
