My oldest son used this book in his 5th grade reading project. It's adult-informative and kid-friendly, combining solid facts and stories with cute thought bubbles and pictures of dogs doing funny things. A good resource into various dog behaviors and what they (might) mean. My son really enjoyed reading this book, as did I. This is one I wouldn't mind reading again and would probably go back and skim a lot if I owned it. I liked how everything was written. Easy to understand and fun with some very shortened stories that were interesting. I'm glad I've read this and would recommend it to anyone who has a dog or is going to get one. It doesn't take long to read and there is a lot of info. The pictures were really good and the captions cute. I liked how the book was laid out too. The end has some cool tidbits about dogs in general and some of the breeds. Definitely worth the read and my son said it didn't feel like a study sesh whatsoever!

I bought this for my 8-year-old to help him understand and recognize the behaviors of our rescue dog as she gets acquainted with our family. It has helped him understand her responses and how to give her space when she is stressed out or feels threatened and to know when to engage with her in play.

My daughter is obsessed with dogs! She loves this book, it's informative but in a fun way. She loves learning about dog behavior and what some of their actions mean. As an adult I have found it fun as well. My daughter is almost 7 and can read the book with a very small amount of assistance.

Love this book. Seems really nice. Wish there was a little bit more detail, but gives good basic information. This would be really great for a child to understand dogs. I was looking for more information on a shy and scared dog being as I got one a couple months ago that seems like she was abused. We got this for an 8-yr-old who has been begging for a dog. She liked the book a lot and learned a lot from it. It was helpful for her in getting ready to help care for our puppy. It is one of the books she keeps on her nightstand and she has probably read it ten times now.

This was a perfect gift for my dog loving husband. He thinks it is right on the money, as does our Golden, Buddy. Paul Isn't a vicarious reader, but this book kept his interest. In fact, he recommended that we buy it for another dog-loving friend, who also loved it. The book is divided into chapters that spell out the different ways dogs communicate, and how they react to each other and the world around them. Really enlightening!

My daughter is an absolute animal lover and we finally got her a puppy for her 9th birthday. While I bought several training books for myself, this was a great book directed at kids to help them understand their dog's behavior and needs. And also how to teach them basic skills. She loved it.

This was such a powerful and emotional book. It’s my favorite in the series so far.Sunny lost his mother at birth and he’s always considered himself in debt to her. He runs for her honor and he’s great at it, except it’s not what his heart wants.Sunny has a difficult relationship with his father and the distance between them is one of the main subjects of the diary entries that make up this book.Sunny speaks to “Diary” as if it’s a person...sometimes his mother and sometimes his father and sometime neither...but it’s so touching and transformational.Wonderful.

I'm so confused. I don't know what went wrong here. I'm actually a little annoyed with this book. I feel like the quality has decreased from one book to the next. Ghost was such a great book, but I can't say the same about the rest of the series.This one was the worst so far. It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to Sunny's story. He was always one of my favorite characters, and I had such high hopes.It was written in "Dear Diary" style, and unfortunately, I found Sunny's narrative voice to be very annoying. And all those sounds "boom, tish, rrrah, bla", I just couldn't take it.The story would have been so much more touching and emotionally charged had it been written in verse form or regular narrative, but all these diary entries were...kind of lame.There were a few gems in there, and that doesn't surprise me because I know what Jason Reynolds is capable of. I give it a 2 stars, because I'm biased and I love Reynolds. But in truth, I'm not sure it deserves more than a star.

Again! He did it again! Left us wanting more! I love his characters and the emotional integrity and plot development! I want to read the next one as soon as possible! The voices come to life. The conflicts are universal. My son and I read the book out loud to each other. It’s great bonding time! We laughed out loud as well as many more emotions.

Jason Reynolds has done it again! Sunny’s story is beautifully written in a diary that I want to read over and over again.

got this for my son. he loves reading Jason Reynolds' books. That says a lot about Reynolds' writings. It's almost impossible to get my son to read. but he goes out of the way to get me to buy him Jason's books and he reads them right right away. Thanks for being able to appeal to boys like my son.

This was a #bookaday for me! What a wonderful third installment. It was a terrific story about loss, grief, forgiveness and moving on. Another fantastic middle grade novel from the incredible Jason Reynolds. So fortunate to have his books in the world. Keep writing, man!

Sadly, the value of these coupon books gets worse with every passing year.I've gotten the American Casino Guide since 2008 every single year.Back then, there were actually valuable coupons that you could use if you went to Las Vegas, and some local coupons for casinos in your area.With each passing year the value of the coupons gets worse and worse. Whereas almost every casino on the strip was represented, now only the "cheaper" casinos have related coupons and they're hardly worth using. You'll never find anything for Mandalay Bay, Aria, the Bellagio, Cosmo, Caesars, Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn, Encore or any more "upscale" place. I remember getting a random medallion at Caesars before or buy-one-get-one Eiffel Tower Rides (which you'd get if you checked into Paris anyway). Now you get nothing.The coupons for Fremont Street still exist but again, aren't very good.The local casinos by me no longer have ANY coupons in that book at all.For me, the price of the book far surpasses anything I'd save on these awful coupons so 2018 will mark the last year I make this purchase.(If you want a book detailing some information about the casinos and going over gameplay, that information in useful. Then again, it's not necessary to buy the book every year. Once time will suffice.)

This is the 3rd year in a row we purchased this book. In the past, we have used it quite a bit and enjoyed the coupons. This year, however, it did not have the best coupons in it and we wound up returning it. We were really disappointed but discovered that we could find better coupons once we got to the casino area we visited (like Vegas) and just picked up the local coupon pamphlets that are free everywhere.

This is my 4th time buying this book. It is great the first time you get it because most of the deals are for people who have not been to the casinos before, but if you already have a players card you can't use most of the coupons.

Five stars if you plan to go to 20 casinos in Las Vegas. One star otherwise for weak gaming advice and listing of places that include many that are out of business.

Going to Vegas next week and this thing is crammed with different coupons for all the casinos down there. I am typically a slot player, because it takes no brains to do lol, but I have learned to play a couple card table games. I like that it actually shows you break downs of the odds on all the games. Very helpful! Hopefully I come home a winner!

Disappointed that there were not many buffet coupons for the Las Vegas Strip area. 95% of the buffet coupons were in other areas of Vegas like Boulder, Henderson, Red Rock, or North Las Vegas. It also seems that the gaming coupons are not as good as they used to be. May not buy the book next year.

This book paid for itself many times over. We used the buy-one-get-one-free coupons for almost every meal we ate over the week we were in Las Vegas. The match play coupons allowed us to explore games we might not normally invest in. Overall a very good value.

The coupons aren't as good as they used to be, but they're still good. If you have a rigid itinerary in Las Vegas, it will be hard to use many coupons. But if you have free time and a rental car you can try some new places with a 2-for-1 buffet or a $10 free bet coupon.The main purpose of buying the book, to this reviewer, is its INFORMATION. It tells you where the buffets are and what they cost, which places charge for parking and how much, and basic but solid information about how to gamble wisely.
