I absolutely love this planner. It’s the size of a tablet. Inside the font is larger. Nice calendar format along with individual days for notes as well. Scripture on top of calendar page for encouragement. I would definitely purchase this again. Even though it was almost $7, it is of a higher quality which was a pleasant surprise.

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this book. I've followed Mr. Still's and Leah's journey for a while now, so I couldn't wait to read the story of their journey through Leah's diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and remission. This book did not disappoint. Certain parts gutted me... like the moment he followed his gut feeling and turned around at an intersection to go meet Leah and her grandmother at IHOP because Leah wasn't feeling well, or the moment he's told about the cancer diagnosis, and going to tell his family. Or the moment he's told he'd been cut from the Bengal's roster. There are funny moments, like when Leah tells it like it is, like when she tells him that of course she knows what a flower girl is (and who doesn't?!). And there are inspirational moments, like where Devon finds it within himself to make a situation better, like when to make Leah feel better about the possibility of losing her hair, he convinces her that bald is beautiful, because he's bald and beautiful, so they shave her head right then so they can be the same...and then his mom does the same! And when he asks God to help him help Leah feel better about surgery and God answers when it comes to him to show her his scars from his surgeries (all that he'd been through with the injuries and surgeries prepared him so he could help her), and the fist bump and game face the day of the surgery. Devon's journey through life and his career, his faith in God, helped him find the inner strength and knowledge to help his daughter through everything she went through, helped her overcome and beat cancer. This is definitely a book that I'll turn to time and again, that will soon be dog-eared with all the leafing through it.

This book puts everything in perspective and shows all the struggles Devon and Leah has been through. It is a book that I'll definitely read over and over again it hit close to home about the part with Leah not enjoying IHOP and he instantly knew something was wrong. On may 31st we took our daughter to IHOP and she wasn't having it and we just blew it off after all she was only 17 months. Then just like in Devon's story June 2nd 2014 our life also changed for ever. Our daughter had to be admitted to the hospital for what ended up being a bowel obstruction due to an NF 1 tumor she had to have a 5 week stay.There was times when we wanted to give up and while my daughter's journey isn't over. This book now has taught us to never give up the game and to keep fighting. She is only 6 but she is so proud of her scars and how far she has came. This book will always have a special place in our hearts.We have been following Devon on Instagram for a few years now and keeping them in our prayers at night. Thank you Devon and Leah for never giving up and being an inspirational to the world and our family!

I don’t even know how to find the words to put my feelings into sufficient enough words. The Love, the lessons about perseverance, faith, overcoming adversity, and yes staying in the fight when life throws you into a tailspin is evident throughput this book. Even though I followed Leah’s journey, it was an interview I saw of Devon Still on YouTube which helped me to stay in the fight for my own life. I didn’t experience anything like cancer, but I was at the lowest point in my life that Mr. Devon Still came into my life in a different way, and he’s been inspiring me since... This book is highly recommended for everyone because we all experience some type of adversity in our lives. Blessings to the Still family and all those who need a pick-me-up to stay in the game no matter what you’re facing... A MUST READ!!!

I’ve been following you since Leah diagnosis with cancer. What you have shown us is your faith in God. No, it wasn’t easy and neither was the battle but regardless to what was put before you, you trusted God. Through your book, you made it personable, you made it to where we all can relate and showed us that IT TAKES FAITH! Thank you for sharing your life with us. Even though we may not understand the plays and you had some unnecessary roughness but with God as your coach, you were guaranteed to be champions #LeahStrong... One of my favorites from the takeaways: Sometimes in life you have to be willing to experience pain so that the people you love don’t hurt anymore. (80)

I ordered this book and it came Friday. I was so excited and I’m looking forward to read a book this week. To me personally make me feel I know I will enjoy this book about what Devon and his precious daughter Leah have been going through their journey.

Today Show's Hoda featured Devon and daughter Leah. Since my friend's grandson has been undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma, I ordered the book. It is so much more than a chronicle of disease. His memoir encompasses growing up in the projects with the support of both parents, commitment to football from teenage years to a professional career, and his determination to keep going despite serious setbacks. If you're a football fan, reading this book is a wonderful way to extend the season.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have come across this beautiful family. This book puts everything in perspective. as a cancer patient myself, I found so much comfort and push to keep on fighting because if Leah being a baby could do it, I have to keep fighting and know that there’s a greater purpose for me. I have a new found admiration and love for Devon, Asha and Leah! Devon thank you from the bottom of my heart because this book spoke to me in levels I never imagined it would when I bought it!! May God continue to bless your beautiful and humble family!

I have followed this story since the first post on instagram. This book is about growth, understanding, devotion, love, staying strong, believing, family, support, fighting and staying true. There's a great Q and A section at the end of the book along with testimonies of different families who have tried gardening the "covering" way.I would describe this book as being half gardening and half preaching. Worth the read? ABSOLUTELY! Regardless of your beliefs it is not hard to realize that pouring a multitude of chemicals into the ground is not a good idea nor is constant plowing of fields allowing the wind to blow away the valuable top soil. Did you know that worms are some of your best friends? What happens to them when you till up the ground?I downloaded this book onto my Kindle. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. This a two-fold book about sowing physically, as in gardening; and sowing spiritually to grow the spiritual man. It tells the life story of Paul Gautschi, the author of the "Back to Eden" videos. Paul's method of farming involves a non-till method, with ample supply of mulch covering using wood chips. He learned his valuable lessons from the God he serves and seeing how nature sets the example. I love the many lessons in the book about gardening and mostly about God. Here is one of my favorite lessons: The Three In One Concept"Earlier, reference was made to symphony music playing Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm. They support the whole, like a three-legged stool. God exists, as our Conductor and has revealed Himself, as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He made humans in three parts too: Spirit, Soul, and Body to support the whole of our being. The Universe is made up of Time, Matter, and Space. To further break these down, Time is Past, Present, and Future; Matter is either Solid, Liquid, or Gas; Space is comprised of Width, Depth, and Height. Even down to the atom, it is predominantly made of Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons. We don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to see a definite 3-in-1 pattern." Nature has something to teach us if we would only listen. I highly recommend this book to all avid Christian gardeners, and even those who are not, may learn something valuable.

I was blessed by this book in many ways. Even though my wife and I have participated in a Paul Gautschi tour of his garden, and I have watched nearly every Back to Eden YouTube available, I still learned through the book' greater details of the revelations that Paul received from the Lord. In other words, where I may have had a general idea of what he learned about a subject, this book provided greater clarity.This book is very evangelistic, which is very appropriate because we can't "Grow Food God's Way" without catching the revelations God has given Paul, and with a mind that is at enmity with God, they would be hard to catch. Another way to say this is, it requires faith to believe that insects are God's Police Force, and without faith we will keep doing things the way we always have. This is my first year growing a Back to Eden Garden, and I was nearly eaten out of house and home, as they say. I had an infestation of Pill Bugs, and I went out at night with a flashlight to see who was devouring everything, and the ground looked like they were having a Pill Bug Convention! Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! Ha Ha! Now, I still believe the revelation Paul received about insects, but too much of any good thing is not good. I had to lower the population of these crustacean's with Sluggo Plus, and the garden is doing great! David shares the Gospel in many very creative ways, and growing food God's ways is only part of the Good News.I highly recommend this book, and may we all learn to do things God's way. I learned a lot, and now I have Paul's testimony in greater detail.

Just what I needed in the point on my timeline for where we go from here! Thank you David, for making your observations and thoughts public! Easy to read and easy to follow. For those of us who love and have a relationship with The Maker of All Things, my only regret is in not knowing this type of information was available. Having gone to a very well respected University and having begun as an Animal Science Major - I'm SO thankful I didn't drink the Kool-Aid they were serving! I recommend this for all to read. Reconnect with the Maker and Creator and open up a dialog so that all of us can hear from the True Master Gardener, how to do it.

This book was well thought out and very well written. It allowed even those of us not well-versed in economics or sociology to understand the big ideas and small nuances portrayed within the book.

This is one of my favorite books out there that discusses global capitalism, globalization, and the changing scope of the US' economy. The parts about Michael Jordan's life are tedious to read, but the analogy and comparison made are amazing.

An eye opening discussion of the modern commercial/cultural world and its implications for all nations. Probably could be presented in half the length but the closing segment nicely outlines the implications of the narrative. Note: the author was my college advisor.

So this was assigned as one of the textbooks for my Sociology courses, and it turns out the Kindle version does not include the 2002 addition of Chapter 7 which discusses a post 9/11 world.So I'm kinda screwed. This problem needs to be fixed.

Great book to read!

Walter Lafeber, a noted historian, writes about a parallel between the rise of basketball and the rise of what he calls the "New Global Capitalism." The culmination of this new capitalism is personified in the book with Michael Jordan.In his discussion of capitalism, the author brings up some examples that point out some of the disadvantages related to capitalism. While we could argue about whether capitalism is good or bad, the author is careful in not really getting into that argument so much as he acts as a cultural critic in how America is not only spreading capitalism around the world (seen by most Americans as good), but also spreading American culture around the world (seen by me at least as not so great).In one sense, most of the world is by now seeing the effects of American-style imperialism. The book does talk about how some have welcomed this and others have reacted harshly. I think the way that the author sees imperialism here is that America is imposing its culture on other nations. It may be at least somewhat fair to say that the people choose this fate, but economic theory would show otherwise: in a world of large companies and small companies, if a large company decides to compete directly with a small company, the large company will be the most likely winner because it is able to charge lower prices, etc. The same goes for large American companies imposing their business into other nations. Can French cafes compete with McDonalds?The author also talks about some of Michael Jordan's pitfalls, such as not speaking out against unfair labor practices in Nike factories, or gambling with known criminals. Why did Michael Jordan have such a strong following? Phil Knight himself even observed people bowing down to a life-size statue of Jordan (can we say idolatry?). While Jordan established himself early in his career as someone who "transcends race," his international fame came through an enormous worldwide marketing blitz. While he became known worldwide as an incredible basketball player, the marketing campaign surrounding him made him out to be much more than that. Through it all, Michael Jordan is still human, and so it is, too, that the economic system that brought him fame is built by humans. They both have incredibly strong points, but neither are infallible.This is not liberal junk. It is merely a book that keeps things in perspective.

Those who want to know what the WTO and IMF protest are about can start with this book. Lafeber's book simplifies the key issues of global corporatism (not free trade; not merely capitalism but corporatism) while relating the rise of the US with the rise of basketball. A great intro book for basketball fans who claim to not understand or care about what is Globalization. They should, but LaFeber stops short of taking a stand on the issue himself. As a historian he merely reports what happened without predicting the future. Contrary to the anonymous reviewer who panned the book as "Liberal Junk," I felt LaFeber stayed extremely neutral- which is my major problem with the book. Remove the Michael Jordan biography, and this book says what Ben Barber's 'Jihad vs. McWorld' does in 1 chapter. Except Barber explains the WHY we should care; not just what's going on in this Corporate world as LeFeber.

Weisman was Sinatra’s road manager and final manager for the last few years of his performing life. Sinatra was past his prime but still had the talent and the drive, and the psychological need, to perform. Weisman gave him the opportunity to continue performing in concerts after his former, longtime manager gave up. Because of this, Weisman’s story has a bittersweet edge to it. It’s interesting and describes the perils and rewards in booking and managing tours in the US, Europe and Asia, but it is still the story of a superlatively talented man battling old age and increasing dementia.Weisman begins by giving some information about his early life and then more details about his experiences in the 70’s when he set up a theater in partnership with Mafia criminals. He’s a bit vague about whether or not he knew from the beginning just who he was dealing with, but he found out fast when he discovered that the profits being skimmed off and then he was arrested and indicted for fraud. He helped the prosecution to some extent in other to shorten his sentence but he never “ratted” on his former partners. One wonders if this is the reason Sinatra initially agreed to employ him...because he didn’t sell out his friends.Weisman actually began working with Sinatra in the early 80’s as road manager and then as manager, evidently without Sinatra knowing that he had been his booking agent from the start. It gives the reader an idea about how dependent performers are on their managers, lawyers, accountants and agents without always realizing how they work together. It is evident that Sinatra came to trust Weisman, even making him co-executor of his will (no easy job considering the mutual animosity of Barbara Sinatra and the three Sinatra offspring) and Weisman respected, even loved, Sinatra. Weisman’s clients included Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis, Jr., Steve Lawrence and Eddie Gorme and this facilitated his planning the tours and concerts where they performed together. His last major accomplishment for Sinatra was bringing about the two Duets recordings, despite Sinatra’s initial worry, even fear, about going into a recording studio again.This is not a “tell all” book although Weisman does include one negative experience with Donald Trump who wanted to renegotiate a contract for the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Trump’s comments about the recently deceased Davis was offensive to Weisman. He is generally complimentary about people and praises his client performers. He is also respectful of Barbara Sinatra although a few incidents make the reader wonder about her real intentions. For instance, Sinatra was a long time user of an anti-depressant that his doctors, including Dr. DeBakey, warned was deleterious to his overall health and could be a significant contributor to his forgetfulness and growing dementia. Everyone wanted him to stop the medication and go into a hospital where his withdrawal could be carefully monitored. DeBakey even offered him a floor in a hospital in Texas. Barbara said no because she was afraid of possible violence. Was this the real reason or did she want to be able to continue controlling him? The battle for his estate and wealth started several years before his real decline and his children and Barbara appear to have been greedy about who would get what, like arguing over the funeral meats before the king has even died. According to Weisman, Sinatra truly cared about Barbara and was very unhappy about the antagonism in his family but could do little about it except try to insure that no one would be hurt financially. Hence Weisman’s headaches as executor during the five years after Sinatra’s death before final pay outs were finalized.Weisman has written an interesting account of his work with a complex man of outstanding talents. Fans should be grateful for this thoughtful book as well as the fact that Weisman worked so that Sinatra could have a few more years doing what he most loved, performing and singing before adoring audiences.

This book covers the final touring years of Sinatra's career as well as the recording of the Duet's album. The author was Sinatra's manager for these final years as well as the manager of Steve Lawrence/Eydie Gorme, Liza Minnelli, Don Rickles, Sammy Davis Jr. and others. The author provides background on how he got into the entertainment business which I think is fitting for any autobiography. The book is not necessarily a biography of Sinatra but of the author's relationship with Sinatra. There are numerous stories that I have read before but it is nice to have them corroborated by someone who had a long-term relationship with Sinatra. Most sad was hearing that Sinatra was on an anti-depressant which affected his memory and despite being told by numerous doctors that he should get off of it, his wife (Barbara) insisted he stay on it. The story of his initial refusal to record the Duet's album was also sad as maybe she had to goad and verbally abuse him to get him to do it but the young Frank Sinatra would never have put up with that. It seems like between Barbara and the kids fighting over his money before he even passed away, the poor man had no peace. All in all, I found the book to be a real page turner and would recommend it to any fan of the Chairman of the Board.

I found the book fascinating, especially telling in the chapters on Frank's declining years and the sad reality of letting go and leaving the stage for good in 1995. Everyone who saw Frank in concert in the waning years left the auditorium worried about his health and the Alzheimer rumors abounded. But I think we all knew that he loved performing so much that once he stopped his downward spiral would really accelerate. It was reassuring to read that his wife Barbara was consistently looking out for his welfare, but my opinion of the children really nosedived after reading how money grabbing and self centered those offspring were. I will always remember Sinatra, warts and all, as the greatest performer of my lifetime. The seven times I had the pleasure of seeing him live on stage remains one of the high points of my life. There will never be another like him, ever.

Great book and a real page turner! Eliot was there for Mr. S's final years and tells interesting and moving stories from those years. I have read many books on Mr. S including the books by Barbara and Tina and this one seems the most authentic. Barbara's book wasn't very good and Tina's book was very bitter. After reading Eliot's book, I have a lower opinion of Tina and Nancy. Very sad reading about their interest in their Dad's money but very little involvement in his life. They never saw him! Also, I couldn't understand why Barbara wouldn't let the doctors change Mr. S's anti depression medication. It just didn't make sense and wasn't right. Seemed like she wanted him medicated for some reason. Sad! Great book with lots of interesting Sinatra stories and also others that Eliot managed including Liza and Don Rickles. I highly recommend this great read!

This is an interesting read and, really, my only gripe is with the way it's been marketed. It's not really "candid" or "revealing" for a real Sinatra fan. Weisman obviously respected Sinatra and enjoyed working for him and that's fine - I'm actually happy about that. I think that while this book has great concepts and exercises in it, the format that these are presented is a bit bulksome and very difficult to read. His method of numbering is horrible. He has exercises (unnumbered), problems (numbered), theorems (numbered) and statements (numbered in a different format than the theorems). Finding anything in the book is a nightmare. Referring to a concept in the book usually requires something like "Go to the 45th page and then find the 3rd exercise from the bottom (exercises have no number remember). There is a line above that with the statement that you need." The whole book could use a major format overhaul. Then it would be a 5 star book.

I'd give this 5 stars if all the printing mistakes were eliminated (things like missing square root signs). I guess they're still trying to get the kinks out of the kindle electronic format. I assume these problems are not there in the regular printed edition, but I don't know.The material itself is great... very thorough. Perfect for some who has taken an introductory linear algebra course already. Plenty of exercises.

One of the finest math books I have encountered. Very deep, complete and with a outstanding amount of excercises.

Just excellent. A lot of material, and a lot of problems that allow you verify that you are really understanding. Difficult to find another book dealing with many of the subjects present in this book.

This book has a very good introductory material on matrices and related topics like eigenvalues, canonical forms and location of eigenvalues etc.. It starts from basics like definitions, types of matrices etc.. and goes on to touch some advanced topics as well. A very good text.

This book explained a lot of myth intrinsically using linear algebra really clearly, but sound really complicated when reading literature in the applied fields.But, I don't know whether it is the nature of the subjects or a lack of organization, you need to go back and forth through all the book several times to the really understand the subject and what the excises are looking for.
