This is a must have pocket guide! If you don't want to buy the 3 volume set then this is for you. It has everything you need for x ray school. There are pictures for all projections and it also has a space for you to write in techniques that work for you. I am currently a student in x ray school but plan on keeping this with me when I become a registered tech. I see registered techs that still carry their book in their pants pocket because it is super useful. This is a purchase I wish I would have made earlier instead of buying the 3 volume set.

This was a valuable purchase and a constant guide to assist in producing the best quality images in a safe and efficient manner. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is the tabs are not as sturdy as I would have liked, they bend easily and do not hold up well to the daily use. However, this could also be due to the crappy packaging the item was shipped in. There was NO bubble wrap or any protective wrapping around the book, the envelope had some thin protective packing- not nearly enough for the rough mail delivery.However, despite the poor packaging, the book is very thorough and conscise, it covers pretty much all the major imaging positions a tech would encounter- a must have tool for any X-ray tech.

You cannot skip this book, it is so key and so useful to bring along to clinical sites and study. If it slips your mind what angles you need or positions for facial bones or other more detailed views, this book has your back! Buy it!!

This is awesome!!! I bought this knowing that it’s not mandatory, but will be helpful in my lab class and clinical site. It really was!!! Had my first lab last week and used it as a guide. I also have the big heavy book, but didn’t want to bring that. Great for reviewing too. I love how small and light it is. Really great to have!!

This is the PERFECT small guide for quick access to exam info. I used it heavily throughout my schooling and clinical but still keep it with me for work in the field just in case I get those not-so-common-anymore orders.

As a current first year student of Radiographic Technology, I find this pocket guide essential. The first year is comprised of memorizing tons of concepts and positions so, as the year progresses, some of the positions discussed in the beginning get a little fuzzy. I know that there are iPhone and Android apps that serve a similar purpose, but most hospital environments frown on students glancing at their phones or iPods, as it is considered unprofessional. Plus, nothing beats a quick paper reference that you are able to jot down notes about technique (kVp, mAs, SID, etc). A perfect companion to Merrill's Atlas of Radiologic Anatomy.

Thank goodness for this book! I had been out of clinic for a few years and decided to go back. This book has saved my butt a few times when I'm trying to recall how to do oblique ribs or the random sinus x-ray. Simple to use as a quick guide and easy to carry around.

Okay people, listen up...I had the Bontrager pocket guide in x-ray school and for about a year after I graduated. I lost that book and then tried this one. I LOVE it compared to the other one. The set up on each page is simpler to look at and comprehend on the fly. If given the choice, I would get this again over Bontrager. I have been a tech for over 5 years now but I use this book for the exams I don't do very often, like skull work. It is really helpful and easy to access the page you need from the tabs.

This is an important subject & needed book but not well written. Having already grappled with much of the material in other books I found the book tedious & repetitive. The Biblically oriented chapter did not sit well with my own personal cosmology & I felt it shouldn’t have been included.Still, for those that have suffered family toxicity, the book is supportive and helpful.

It's crazy how a book can impact your life.. Growing up I was always confused about love. I would always ask myself "why doesn't anyone love me?" Reading this book as open my eyes on what love should be. I envy people who has a healthy family. Yes I know every family has drama and would fight with one another but this book points out the difference between a toxic family and a healthy family. For a couple years I've been reading many (I mean MANY) psychology books because I've wonder why I've always felt this way (not loved). Learning about emotions, spirit, body, and soul has changed the way I view EVERYTHING! I highly recommend this book to everyone. I will admit I cried while reading this book and it took probably weeks for me to finally finish. It was not because I lost interest but it had touch me in a way that I cannot explain. I've known defeat, suffering, struggles and would also say loss.. and after reading books after books trying to learn how I should control my emotions but instead I learned how to understand my emotions. I love being around others who have an understanding of life which fills them with compassion, gentleness, and just a deep loving concern for themselves and others around them. Before reading this book I disconnected certain family members in my life and yes at the beginning I felt like I was making a mistake. The thought of being alone scared me. This book has change the way i felt and the decision I made is for the better. Many would say or think "how selfish can you be to do that to your own family?" Is it selfish to love yourself and to protect yourself from those that put you down and make you feel so little? Does walking on egg shells around certain people love? Well if you walked in my shoes you will understand that it's not being selfish, it's about loving yourself. The love starts with you and after that the right people will stay in your life. 🧡

No Spoilers... Oh, I did not see that coming! This is my favorite thought at the end of any crime/thriller book. This had more than one of these moments so I was a very happy reader. Although some of the early trips back in time felt a bit awkward these are vital to the story telling and character development. I went back twice to read dates to be sure I understood the time flow a couple of times. However, as the story progresses there is a natural rhythm between the now and past. The female lead is flawed and strong. Clarke is not sexualized and she does not have an affair with her partner. If you are looking for romance in your crime story this is not for you. This is an FBI vs. serial killer thriller. A well written but brutal plot which leads down several unexpected paths. I thought I could read it over several days... I was wrong. I finished it in one day.

It is entirely possible that I’ve read too many crime/thriller novels. However, I managed to guess exactly what would happen in the end by a little over halfway through the book. Yes, there are three “shocking twists,” and I could see each one of them, as if the author had handed me a pair of top-of-the-line binoculars. By now, you might be wondering why this saddened reviewer here still gave the book 4 stars. Honestly, it comes down to two aspects:1. This book was very well written. The attention to detail was refreshing, and the author would describe small mannerisms or facial expressions to bring out the dark and twisted thoughts within the characters’ minds. Even if I could eventually tell where the plot was headed, I actually don’t think it’s very obvious, and it’s astonishingly clever! Quite simply, I was hooked and had to see for myself how everything would play out. The plot here is amongst one of the best I’ve read in a while. I just think it needs a little work to blur out the clues about the plot twists.2. The characters!!! This main character, Clark, is just so interesting. I wanted to know more about her, and I was not disappointed. We are given so many layers to this character, that she almost seems real. I think that makes this story amazing, because most other crime novels just talk about the current events happening to the main character, with maybe one chapter dedicated to a backstory. Here, we have someone worth following and rooting for!Some other things to keep in mind:- The beginning is a tiny bit slow, and surprisingly, I thought the climax ending was too. The author tended to get a little wordy where you just want the story to keep going. I promise this wasn’t a huge issue though, because most of this book could aptly be called a thriller.- There is a little bit of graphic content. Nothing grotesque or cringeworthy, but it doesn’t shy away from some dark places. This is something else I thought was amazing, because it brought out that raw killer atmosphere to amp up the thriller effect. Very well done!!- There’s no cliffhanger. There are some bad words. Sadly, there’s no mention of any dogs or cats as pets. It’s very easy to read and fly through the book because of the gripping content. All questions I had about the case and how they knew certain details or followed certain procedures were solidly answered throughout.Ultimately, my seperate issues aside, I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a smart and thrilling crime novel!!

I really didn't like this book. I read all of it because I was curious as to the end. The question "did Clarke live or die?" Was the underlying question. I thought the riff between Clark and Sam was overplayed. It was present on almost every page but . We got the picture early on. Never understood the reason behind their mutual anger. Actually I never understood the reasons behind most of the behaviors of Clark, Sam or Simon. Simon's intense feelings for Clark didn't jive with him being a sociopath or psychopath. Too much filler and too little explanation and insufficient sound reasons are the reasons I cannot recommend this book. By the way, I didn't like any of the lead characters.

Well, I gave the book 3 stars because the ending twist earned it. I am not sure I have ever read a book that I hated one of the main characters more than Clarke.The book is divided in chapters named for the different characters. I hated to see the chapters come up titled Clarke. She is a whiny, dysfunctional FBI agent and her chapters were full of her loathsome self pity. I also began to despise her partner Sam for all the times he called he kid. So for me the chapters about Clarke could have been a lot less and more on the other characters who made the story. It does finally explain Clarke and her ways in the end and that is probably her only saving grace.

There's only one reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars but I can't write it without giving a big hint as to what happens. Usually I don't care but this is a very suspenseful story that shouldn't be spoiled.I liked how the story occasionally goes to the past so you get a better view into the characters psyche.I literally got up and made sure all my doors and windows were locked because Simon was that disturbing. The writing could have been much more graphic but I'm glad it wasn't. I think it would have made me disengage from the story. Don't get me wrong, there are some disturbing actions that happen, it is about a serial killer, but the unknowing of what happened to some of the victims added to the suspense.Maybe I'll edit this review in a few months as to why I took off one star but I think you'll know it if you read the book.

This is a good read, it keeps you guessing about how the characters are connected. You will meet a serial killer, a foster family, families by blood, those extended non-bood related family members and the innocent victims along the way. You will not put this book down until the last sentence is read.

This book has every cliche in the, er, book, and I’ve barely started it. The angsty, self-destructive, borderline alcoholic FBI agent with a troubled past, the evil-genius serial killer with his elaborate games——yawn. It’s been done a gazillion times before and by far better writers. I quickly got annoyed by the author’s repetitive use of “the bastard” whenever anyone was thinking of or referring to the killer. Get a thesaurus for Pete’s sake.

I'm a Harvard grad, SAT perfect scorer and full-time private tutor since 2002. I've also achieved perfect scores on multiple SAT essays. This book receives my solid recommendation for anyone struggling with the constraints of the new SAT essay "rhetorical analysis" format.The writer covers all of the main facets of the new SAT Essay, including the scoring, structure and key elements of a rhetorical analysis, combined with more strategic advice regarding such topics as paragraph structure, transitions, vocabulary usage, length, writing speed, quotations, examples, and the elements of persuasion.Mr. Phu himself admits that he is not a naturally gifted writer, and in fact, in the sample essay he provides, he only received a 7/7/7 score out of an 8/8/8 scale. But the information within is solid, organized and no-nonsense, if brief (the book is 70 pages long).Someday I will get around to writing a new SAT essay guide of my own. Until then, I can say with confidence that this is the best one I've seen.For my personal SAT prep recommendations, google "SAT Action Plan."

This book is brief, but contains a lot of information. It gives you a good template, analysis information, and useful tips. It is a quick read. Unlike other essay books, this one is more like a study guide. The only thing I think it can be more detailed on is the analysis part. Overall I find this book helpful for the purpose of writing the SAT essay.

Note that this is a much concise book with 70 pages of material. The Appendix B has real essays (printed 4 original essay pages per book page - though I would have preferred to see a single original essay page per book page as letters are too tiny to read in current format). I think it's a bit expensive for the material offered.

Great resource that tackles the SAT essay in a methodical and organized way to help the student compose a all encompassing essay in a short time. My son studied the book in a few days (it takes a few hours to ready through) and then did a few practice essays using the book. He then memorized a few sentences and started practicing writing the essays without the book. This gave him great confidence to tackle the SAT essay on exam day. His results should be out soon and I hope he gets a good score.Update: He got an essay score of: 6/6/5And he's the type that doesn't like writing at all.

Although I liked this book, I can't say my son really utilized or followed all of his recommendations so he only got average scores on the essay portion. Overall, for the fact this book is so thin and the essay portion isn't so weighted and required by all colleges, I think the price should be less expensive.

My daughter got a perfect 8/8/8 score just by using this book. In a concise manner, it tells you specific tactics of how to construct your essay. It also includes several student essays which actually got a perfect score. It is a thin book, but it contains all the information you need.

I am a student from Greece, preparing for the SAT with no guidance from teachers. I find this book is very helpful, with great detail and at the same time easy to understand. I recommend it to anyone preparing for the SAT independently and to international students.

Born in London, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (1797-51) was the daughter of William Godwin, a noted social theorist, and Mary Wollstonecraft, one of the leading literary women of the day. This was supposed to be the original 1818 version of the book, but it isn’t. It’s a bizarre copy - there are no publishing notes at all. It’s missing the Preface. I compared the first few chapters to an online version of the 1818 book and I noticed differences in Letter 3 where a whole paragraph was added. I would need to check the 1831 version to see if that is what this book is. I should return it but it was $4 and not worth the effort.

This book was one of the biggest surprises for me! Absolutely NOTHING what I expected. When someone says word "Frankenstein", you think about a lab, a mad proffesor, some lightning buzzing into the bolts inside monster's head. Drop all this imagination! This classical book had nothing of it! :O Maybe that's why I was so amazed. If I didn't have all those expectations, maybe my rating would be lower, but now, damn, I liked it a lot! Since I have so much to say, I'll just drop it into a list, of good and bad things :)1) It's awesome that Amazon is giving free ebooks for classical literature like this! Thanks, Amazon! And what a surprise it was for me, that this Kindle edition is the real original "Frankenstein", but audiobook narrated by George Guidhall is of a later edition (which was edited by the author herself, when her book became famous). So reading those two books where more like reading two separate books for me - one ebook and one audiobook, with quite a lot of changes, even so major as who Elizabeth was to Victor - a real cousin, or just a girl taken from street! :O2) As I said, I have expected this book to be absolutely different! A horror story, about making a man from different body parts. Actually this only took a few pages of the book. All the book was Victor's thoughts about what he had done, creatures thoughts about humankind, and 3) a lot a lot A LOT of words misery, wretchedness and countenance :D My oh my, I have never read so many same QQing thoughts in my life! :D This book could be a good 5 star if Victor's thoughts weren't so TERRIBLY repetitive. He said he feels misery/is miserable/life's misery at least 135 times (just did a search in my Kindle). I won't even count other of his cryings. I should be ashamed of making fun of his inner tortures. Victor Frankenstein had a really difficult life, but I'm not if it was a good idea by the author to write it in such a repetitive way! but on the other hand - it was an absolutely different style from the books I usually read, so also a good thing.4) Never ever don't you dear call a man-made-man a "Frankenstein"! He didn't have a name! Frankenstein was his creator. But the creature was just that - a creature. And what a surprise he was! All my life I thought of Frankenstein's creature to be a mindless monster, with bolts in his head, making ugly sounds and walking like a zombie. That's what those movies show! But this was such a mistake of mine! :O Creature was one of the most intelligent characters in the story! His ability to deduct, to learn, to feel... he was amazing! The story creature told about his first year of life was so heartgripping that I felt so fond of him, so sorry for him... Sadly later he changed.. Loniness makes people (and other creatures) do bad things... :( But still.. he was not a mindless zombie. He was extremely sensitive being.. With emotions on extremities - both good and bad. But wouldn't we be like that, if we didn't have parents and comfort of other people to learn from?I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to read some intricate English language, but who has enough patience to suffer though all characters' repetitive sufferings (pun intended).This book is emotional, but not in a romantic way. It makes You think about creators responsibility against the creation. And most of all, it shows how Your decisions can change Your whole life!

If you're reading this review, you only have one question. You're not looking for a book review, you already know it's a classic. You already know this is the most original, and one of the best, and best-written horror stories in literature. You may or may not like the story, but that's a matter of personal taste. A lot of people don't like Shakespeare, but no one questions whether he was a good writer or not. If you don't like the writing style, it's because you aren't familiar with the English of this period. Nearly eighty years before Stoker's "Dracula" ( an idea stolen from Polidori's "The Vampyre", which was an idea stolen from LeFanu's "Carmilla"), this most-original horror masterpiece was born. So, your only question is, "Is this really the uncensored 1818 version? Because I've only seen one other verified version, and it's over twenty dollars in paperback. All the others claiming to be the 1818 version have been disproved." YES, as far as I can tell, it is. The only preface is Shelley's own original. There is no introduction, no commentary or editorial credits whatsoever. There are no illustrations, and the spelling and language have not been edited. Have a good thesaurus handy. So, here it is, the author's original script, no frills, for a bargain price. Which is exactly what I was looking for.

Do not buy this (October 22, 2017) Kindle edition of Frankenstein. The book is riddled with typographic errors and the wording is off in many places. Some sentences don't flow or even make sense. It appears a bad OCR tool was used to translate the original Frankenstein novel to this bastardization. I had to put down the book since it was simply unreadable. As an alternative, I downloaded the open source version (legally free) from Gutenberg here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/84. I'm now reading and enjoying Frankenstein on its 200th anniversary.
